Gather is on the Outline menu. Gather collects together all currently marked headlines into an outline location specified by you. Before gathering headlines, you must have previously marked them by choosing Mark on the Outline menu. The Home headline can’t be marked or gathered.
Gather has the following options:
Gather Mode Defines what you wish to do with the marked headlines:
Clone Makes clones (dynamic copies) of the marked headlines at the destination you choose in the Destination box. Changes made in one clone are reflected in the companion clone.
Move Moves the marked headlines to the destination you choose in the Destination box.
Duplicate Makes simple copies (not dynamic clones) of the marked headlines at the destination you choose in the Destination box.
Destination Defines where to place the gathered headlines:
Holder & Subheads Gathers marked headlines under a new headline called gathered headlines — just below and at the same level as the current headline selection, or one level below it.
New Subheads Gathers marked headlines one level below the current headline selection.
New Siblings Gathers marked headlines below, but at the same level as the current headline selection.
Gather Performs the gather, according to the options selected above.
Once the headlines have been gathered, MORE removes their marks.
